Pig farms north of both Eldevin and Othalo in the beginning works very well. Do your daily quests for skinning and leather working together. When dailies are done make the highest level leather item you can for the most exp. Sell it to the guy behind the counter to pay for the ingredients and make a few extra coins. If you are a Ranger or Assassin this is your way to crafting your own outfits. Boars in Adera and right outside the Lower East gate of Eldevin City will become your prey of choice for more than a few levels. Even when doing other quests if you can kill it check if you can skin it. You'd be surprised what kinds of creatures give ham. LOL. While gathering hides your sides will move from soft meat, to ham, and then on to rump* before you know it.
*When your hides start giving you rump as a side dish you will regret not working on that farming.
